I started crocheting in 2018, excited to try something new and creative. At first, I loved the idea of making my own handmade pieces, but it didn’t take long for frustration to set in. By 2019, I had completely stopped. Everything felt difficult, confusing, and overwhelming. I didn’t understand the stitches, and trying to read patterns felt like learning a whole new language. No matter how much I tried, nothing seemed to turn out the way I hoped. I truly believed that crochet just wasn’t for me.
For a while, I set it aside and didn’t think I would ever pick it up again.
Then in 2020, during lockdown, I found myself with more time at home and a quiet urge to try again. Something told me to give crochet one more chance. This time, I approached it differently. I slowed down, followed simpler tutorials, and allowed myself to learn step by step without pressure.
What started as a second chance slowly turned into something I never expected. With patience and practice, things began to click. The stitches that once confused me started to make sense, and patterns no longer felt so intimidating. Little by little, I began creating small pieces, and then more detailed ones. Before I knew it, I was making amigurumi that I once thought were impossible.
Looking back, I realized I didn’t fail the first time, I just needed the right approach, the right guidance, and a little more patience with myself.
Today, I have created more amigurumi than I ever imagined possible, and that journey is exactly what inspired Precious Cuddles.
